Young kestrel (and metal vs wooden pylons)

While walking back home from a walk across Strait Hey I saw a young Kestrel being hassled by a Crow. The Crow perched very closely indeed to the juvenile Kestrel so I wonder if it realised the bird wasn't a full adult? Would a Crow risk this with an adult Kestrel I wonder...

I'll be sorry to see these old metal electricity pylons go really, as they are all being replaced with wooden ones around here now.

Although the wooden ones will be useful for woodpeckers and for all birds to use as perches, the metal ones had in-built steps (as you can see in the pics above) that were used by Little Owls as roosting places, when they were in the lee of the wind and rain.

Although the grass and moorland looks to be being badly damaged by the tractors and caterpillar-tracked vehicles necessary to complete the work, the land will soon recover and in 12 months or less we won't be able to see the damage at all.
